A Little Bit About Mo:

Moselle first learned how to tell stories from the creeks and foothills in the Ozarks of Arkansas. One day at a record shop in downtown Fayetteville Mo heard "its alright ma I'm only bleeding". It was really all down-hill from there. They developed a bit of an obsession, it was bad y'all, they turned most conversations into ones about bob dylan- for yeARSSS :,)

Eventually Moselle's interest in songwriting expanded; Stephen Sondheim, Tori Amos, later Angel Olsen, Brian Sella, more recently Ethel Cain, Jensen McRae. Mo had always loved to write (couple Doctor Who spec scripts, penned around middle school, floating somewhere in the ether), and music had been at the core of their entire life like a spine, or a seed. Writing songs became a way to process the complicated and the absurd. Which is why sometimes its hard to describe what a song is about; if it was simple enough to just say in a few words then it's likely it didn't really need a song written about it in the first place. Although sometimes it is fun to write about something because you just want to, and those songs are usually a little easier to describe. What a capricious thing songwriting can be.

Mo first started performing original songs while bartending in Springfield, Missouri. They usually played too fast during this time because in the words of Anna Nalick playing one's original music can "feel like [one is] naked in front of a crowd [because the] words are [one's] diary screaming out loud". And maybe that feels melodramatic, but imagine you're on stage, telling a bunch of strangers about a sex dream you had and now you also have to sing well and play a little guitar and i don't know i guess i just think thats quite stressful, especially when you want it to sound good enough so that people are willing to purchase tickets to see it.

So yeah.

Moselle is now based in Los Angeles, California.
